Most, if not all of our DACA recipients—who arrived in the country as minor children—are just as 'American' as anyone who was born and raised in our country.

Robert Winful II, Owner & Founding Attorney, The Winful Law Firm, P.L.L.C.

Named a Top 10 Family Law Attorney by Attorney and Practice Magazine, Attorney Winful brings a wealth of knowledge to his industry, and, in particular, to his areas of specialization, immigration law, family law, personal injury, insurance law, and criminal defense. When asked why he decided to pursue a career in law, Attorney Winful said:

"I had been working in Personal Lines Insurance Claims in Hartford, Connecticut, for just a few months as an Entry-Level Claims Adjuster. But I transitioned quickly into the Personal Lines Bodily Injury/Casualty Claims department in the Richardson, Texas, Safeco Insurance Office, right around the summer of 2006. Within a few months of transitioning into the promotion, I was consistently leading my entire Casualty Claims unit in productivity, quality assurance, customer service, all of that. It was actually my immediate supervisor who suggested persistently, that I take the leap towards a career in law, apparently because of the leadership, discipline and overall success I had achieved in my new role in such a short period of time."

As a thought leader in his field, Attorney Winful pays careful attention to developments in various aspects and areas of the law which may affect his clients’ cases, their rights, and their overall stability and well-being. In particular, he notes that he has been currently directing much of his attention to changes in the laws impacting criminal justice and immigration:

"The developments around DACA have been quite a roller coaster. Many of my clients have had to just forget about DACA, then re-apply, wait, and then reconsider again. As an immigrant myself, I personally empathize with my immigration clients. DACA provides the children of our immigrant families the privilege of attending school to better themselves, while also enabling them to adequately assimilate into American culture. Because, after all, most, if not all of our DACA recipients—who arrived in the country as minor children—are just as 'American' as anyone who was born and raised in our country."

In addition to his private practice, Attorney Winful is also a trusted member of several community organizations as well as several committees under the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association, the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, and the Dallas Bar Association’s Lawyer Referral Service, which helps community residents in need in their search for skilled, compassionate, and competent counsel in various areas of the law.
