All lawyers in Ohio attend continuing legal education courses, but I'm always surprised at how many of them work on their laptops or swipe at the screens of their phones during the course. However, the good lawyers are the ones who pay attention during those courses because there are always new issues developing in the area of family law. Thus, I'm always paying attention.

With 18 years dedicated to law, Langhals brings a wealth of knowledge to his industry, and, in particular, to his area of specialization, family law concerns, including divorce, dissolution, child custody, adoption, wills, and powers of attorney. When asked why he decided to pursue a career in law, Langhals said:

"Nobody wants to get divorced, but if it’s going to happen, I wanted to make sure people could hire a lawyer who could help them get through it with class and dignity."

In addition to his private practice, Langhals is trusted to act as a Guardian Ad Litem Investigator and also serves as the director of the Hope Center Legal Clinic, which provides pro bono legal advice to community members who otherwise would not be able to afford it.

As a thought leader in his field, Langhals pays careful attention to trends and changes in his areas of specialty that could affect his clients. He notes:

"All lawyers in Ohio attend continuing legal education courses, but I’m always surprised at how many of them work on their laptops or swipe at the screens of their phones during the course. However, the good lawyers are the ones who pay attention during those courses because there are always new issues developing in the area of family law. Thus, I’m always paying attention."

Langhals is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and also served as the Treasurer of the Union County Bar Association in 2017, and its Vice President for 2018.  Additionally, he is an active member of his community, participating in the Union County Chamber of Commerce and coaching "Upwards Basketball", among other involvement.
