"Seventy percent of our business comes from purchases and we work with a lot of first-time buyers. We also think that millennials and single women are buying homes more often now and we try to make sure that the process is really approachable. A lot of places don't focus on the needs of millennials who, in general, are wanting to meet more in person and face to face than people who are a few years older. So, we try to take a personal approach."

Matt Demorest, President & Owner, HomeSure Lending

Mr. Demorest brings a wealth of knowledge to his industry. When asked what inspired him to pursue a career in mortgages, Mr. Demorest said:

"I was in charge of business development and operations at a few different small businesses in my career. As I was helping these business owners be more successful, I thought, why not do this for myself? It compelled me to start my own business."

Mr. Demorest started his business on a small budget, but through his resourcefulness and business savvy managed to steer his new company to success in its first year when he closed more than 100 loans. Today, HomeSure Lending offers assistance with home financing in the greater Detroit area with a variety of options such as conventional financing, FHA, VA, and, USDA loans, all at competitive rates. He and his team service residents of Ann Arbor, Royal Oak, Grand Rapids, Marquette, and all points in between. With the same dedication to client service that first allowed him to thrive, Mr. Demorest individualizes the analysis of each client and provides them with multiple refinance options, followed by an honest, professional opinion on what he believes is their best approach.

As a thought-leader in his field, Mr. Demorest is perceptive of the evolving market and makes sure his services stay relevant to his growing client base. In particular, he has been paying close attention to the rise of Millennials and first-time buyers in the lending space, which he notes caused him to tweak his approach with clients accordingly:

"Seventy percent of our business comes from purchases and we work with a lot of first-time buyers. We also think that millennials and single women are buying homes more often now and we try to make sure that the process is really approachable. A lot of places don’t focus on the needs of millennials who, in general, are wanting to meet more in person and face to face than people who are a few years older. So, we try to take a personal approach."
