She earned her J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1989. After graduating, Ms. Mead served as a judicial law clerk in both the Court of Special Appeals and Circuit Court for Baltimore City before entering into private practice. Over the course of her career, Ms. Mead has been included among America's Top 100 attorneys and every year for the last eleven years she has also been named among Super Lawyers Magazine's Maryland Super Lawyers.
"We can go one year where the jurors are very liberal and another year where they are very conservative. So, it is important for me as an attorney to know my jurisdiction. I have to have an intimate knowledge of the potential jury panel in order to properly advocate for a client. That way I can figure out how to say what I need to say in the most persuasive way possible."

With over 25 years of experience, Ms. Mead brings a wealth of knowledge to her industry, and in particular to her area of specialization, criminal law. When asked why she decided to pursue a career in law, Ms. Mead noted that she has been fascinated with criminal law since childhood:
"When I was in third grade, I started reading Nancy Drew. Then I moved on to Ellery Queen and Perry Mason. That interest led me to a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Troy State University followed by a master’s in the same degree. I began to work in the area of child and sexual abuse, as well as with disabled adults because quite frankly I didn’t believe I was capable of going to law school. It wasn’t until I was nearly thirty when I took a few evaluation tests that told me I should either go into law or become an entrepreneur that I decided to pursue my Juris Doctor.”
Aside from her extensive experience, what sets Ms. Mead apart from her peers in criminal law is her dedication to providing results-oriented representation with around-the-clock client service. She prides herself on taking the time to sit down one-on-one with each person that comes into her office in order to tailor her services to the legal needs of each individual. Her natural empathy for her clients combined with her fearless and perseverant litigation skills and her thorough understanding of criminal law has made Ms. Mead one of the go-to criminal defense attorneys in Maryland.
As a thought-leader in her field, Ms. Mead keeps her eye on prevailing trends within criminal law. In particular, she notes that the judicial system as a whole has a tendency to swing based on the political climate:
"We can go one year where the jurors are very liberal and another year where they are very conservative. So, it is important for me as an attorney to know my jurisdiction. I have to have an intimate knowledge of the potential jury panel in order to properly advocate for a client. That way I can figure out how to say what I need to say in the most persuasive way possible."
