He earned his B.A. in political science from the University of Alabama and then his J.D. in 1995 from the University of Miami School of Law. After graduating, he began working alongside his father, Attorney Marvin Kurzban, the co-founder of Kurzban Kurzban Weinger Tetzeli & Pratt.

The pendulum of Justice swings over time and is currently swinging back to help protect individuals instead of protecting corporate greed and profits. Juries are recognizing the important role they play in civil litigation, setting the tone of how corporations should act.

With over 20 years dedicated to law, Kurzban brings a wealth of knowledge to his industry, and, in particular, to his area of specialization, catastrophic personal injury attorney with a particular focus on medical malpractice and wrongful death. When asked why he decided to pursue a career in this area of law, Kurzban said:

"My father was a trial attorney, so I grew up with a sense of wanting justice in the world and personal injury law seemed like the best way to do that. I got into medical malpractice and wrongful death specifically because I enjoyed the medical and more cerebral nature of the work as opposed to auto accidents. I enjoy being able to learn, and based on what I learn, teach the jury about what the world should be like."

Now based in Miami, Florida, and Honolulu, Hawaii, Kurzban is an equity and litigation partner of Kurzban Kurzban Weinger Tetzeli & Pratt P.A. and Of Counsel with Damon Key Leong Kupchak Hastert, A Law Corporation. Kurzban’s staunch client advocacy and industry-leading representation have earned him recognition from numerous prestigious organizations, including Martindale-Hubbell®, Universal and Strathmore’s Who’s Who, and the American Institute of Personal Injury Lawyers™.

As a thought leader in his field, Kurzban is a valued member and influential figure within the legal community. He has been to Tallahassee many times in connection with the Florida Justice Association to help lobby and construct litigation aimed at protecting injury victims. He also helped implement an ethics and responsibility course at his alma mater and has taught a pre-trial civil litigation course at the University of Miami School of Law.

This prominence places Kurzban in a unique position from which to observe the latest developments in personal injury and medical malpractice law. In particular, he notes:

"The pendulum of Justice swings over time and is currently swinging back to help protect individuals instead of protecting corporate greed and profits. Juries are recognizing the important role they play in civil litigation, setting the tone of how corporations should act."
