With over 20 years dedicated to Medicine, Mann brings a wealth of knowledge to his industry and, in particular, to his area of expertise in thoracic surgery. When asked why Mann decided to go into medicine, he said:

As a thought-leader in his industry, Mann has been an NIH funded researcher in cardiac biology for the past ten years. His research program focuses on what he calls “translational” research on cardiac molecular biology and potential molecular therapy. His background in molecular biology and molecular medicine has enabled him to collaborate very closely with experts in thoracic oncology. He has specifically been studying molecular aspects of cancer biology as they pertain to improved diagnostic tests, prognostic analyses, and therapy. He noted:
