With 12 years dedicated to medicine, Dr. Nelson brings a wealth of knowledge to his industry, and in particular, to his area of expertise, pediatric otolaryngology. When asked why he decided to pursue a career in medicine, Dr. Nelson said:

As a thought-leader in his field, Dr. Nelson Nelson is committed to expanding the knowledge of otolaryngology through his research, writing, and teaching. In order to offer his patients the most effective care, Nelson remains at the cutting edge of his field and is constantly updating his training to learn the most advanced surgical techniques. He recently has increased his use of endoscopic ear surgery, and is transitioning from open to endoscopic airway surgery. He noted:

Dr. Nelson is currently in practice at Akron Children’s Hospital where he serves as the Director of the Center for Hearing and Communicative Disorders in the department of Pediatric Otolaryngology. He is also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at Northeast Ohio Medical University. Dr. Nelson is a member of the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology for which he currently serves on the Membership Committee, American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, and the Northeast Ohio Otolaryngology Society. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Section of Otolaryngology.
