Dr. Neuwirth completed his residency in internal medicine at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York and a residency in ophthalmology at the Edward S. Harkness Eye Institute at Columbia-Presbyterian, where he also served as chief resident. He completed a Vitreo-Retinal Fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

Dr. Neuwirth is currently one of the partners at the Retina Consultants, PC. With six locations in the Hartford area, it is one of the top networks for ophthalmologic care in Connecticut. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Neuwirth has been the Chief of the Department of Ophthalmology at Hartford Hospital since 2004, and also serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine’s Department of Surgery, Division of Ophthalmology.
