With over 35 years dedicated to medicine, Dr. Baumann brings a wealth of knowledge to his industry, and in particular, to his area of expertise, ophthalmology. When asked why he decided to pursue a career in this specialization, Dr. Baumann said:

As a thought-leader in his industry, Dr. Baumann is renowned for his research, writing, and teaching. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and was previously a Clinical Instructor at the Illinois College of Optometry. He has also served as the principal investigator for numerous national research studies, including studies for new and advanced Intraocular Lense (IOL) implants. Operating on the cutting-edge of his field, Dr. Baumann keeps a close eye on trends in eye surgery. He noted:

Dr. Baumann is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Florida Medical Association, Lake County Medical Society where he was a Past President, Florida Society of Ophthalmology, Central Florida Society of Ophthalmology, Florida Society of Ambulatory Surgery Centers where he serves on the Board of Directors, and the Physician Advisory Board for the Amsurg Corporation. He is the Medical Director of the Florida Hospital/Waterman, Mid-Florida Surgery Center, and the Surgery Center of the Villages.
