The Expert Network celebrates its newest member, Dr. Edward S. Linn
Chicago, IL, November 4, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Dr. Edward S. Linn, Chairman, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology for the Cook County Health & Hospitals System, has joined The Expert Network, an invitation only service for distinguished professionals. Linn has been chosen as a Distinguished Doctor™ based on peer reviews and ratings, numerous recognitions, and accomplishments achieved throughout his career.
Linn outshines others in his field due to his extensive educational background, recognitions, and career longevity. He received his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School Of Medicine and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Michael Reese Hospital serving as Chief Resident in his final year.
"Healthcare is changing at a tumultuous pace, but to me the doctor-patient relationship is what remains most important. The fact is, there are very few careers where you can actually see yourself making a difference in an individual's life. The reality is that physicians are desperately needed now, more so than ever."

With 37 years dedicated to medicine, Linn brings a wealth of knowledge to his industry, and in particular, to his areas of expertise, obstetrics and gynecology. When asked what inspired him to go into medicine, Linn said:
"As an undergraduate at the University of Illinois, my interests were originally in the biological sciences. When I chose to minor in anthropology, it became apparent that I was a humanist and needed to have a career where I could apply science to directly benefit humanity. Medicine seemed to be a logical course."
As a thought-leader in his industry, Linn has lectured both locally and nationally on a wide range of OB-Gyn topics with a focus on contraceptive modalities and hormone replacement, as well as contributing significantly to the gynecological and obstetrical scientific literature. He has served on community service organizations, journal editorial boards, participated in a wide range of university and hospital committees, and been the principal and co-principal investigator on a number of important research grants.
Linn's major focus remains on the patients he treats. He noted:
"Healthcare is changing at a tumultuous pace, but to me the doctor-patient relationship is what remains most important. The fact is, there are very few careers where you can actually see yourself making a difference in an individual's life. The reality is that physicians are desperately needed now, more so than ever."
