We are all watching budget decisions out of Juneau that may release a variety of funds to help the economy. Sometimes Realtors have a tendency to believe we're in a bubble, but that's not true—we are affected by so many outside items, including the local and global economy. So, if the Alaskan economy goes up, the hope is that the real estate economy will as well.

With over 15 years dedicated to real estate, Owen brings a wealth of knowledge to her industry, and, in particular, to her area of expertise, residential properties throughout the Anchorage metropolitan area, from the Matanuska-Susitna Borough to the Kenai Peninsula Borough.

Owen began her real estate career in property management, working her way up from leasing consultant position to serving as her company's regional manager. When asked why she decided to switch to real estate sales, Owen said:

"I had earned every certification available and reached one of the top positions, so I felt that there was nothing left to learn and no possibility of upward mobility. I already had a real estate license to do property management in Alaska, so I decided to put my hat in with an industry that seemed to be changing constantly—a place where there was always something new to learn.”

As a thought leader in her field, Owen offers a free educational blog on her website to keep buyers and sellers up to date on the latest developments in Anchorage real estate. In particular, she is paying close attention to statewide decisions that are being made as a result of three consecutive years of recession. She noted:

"We are all watching budget decisions out of Juneau that may release a variety of funds to help the economy. Sometimes Realtors have a tendency to believe we’re in a bubble, but that’s not true—we are affected by so many outside items, including the local and global economy. So, if the Alaskan economy goes up, the hope is that the real estate economy will as well.”

Outside of her booming real estate business, Owen is also a coach and mentor. Her company, Successfully Yours, offers methods for success that have been developed from her own experience in her real estate team model. In addition, Owen is a published author: in "The Making of Momma Dee," she shares the story of her family’s adventures moving cross-country to Alaska with their three wild boys in tow.
