The Expert Network celebrates its newest member, Debra Taylor

Debra Taylor, Principal & Founder, Taylor Financial Group, LLC, has joined The Expert Network. Taylor Financial Group, LLC is a full-service wealth management firm in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey that provides investment and financial planning services to high net worth families and affluent women. With over twenty years of experience, Debbie is responsible for developing the vision of the firm along with client development, portfolio management, and servicing the needs of Taylor Financial Group’s clients.

Though now an established financial advisor, Debbie’s career began down an altogether different path. For Debbie, her desire to help people is the direct result of the challenges she faced in childhood. She lost her father to a heart attack when she was ten years old and then witnessed her mother struggle as she worked tirelessly to provide for her family. Beyond the emotional strife, the financial burden of being raised in a single parent home weighed heavily on Debbie.

"We have also noticed more and more the need for women to be educated and active in the management of their wealth, for their families and for themselves. We know that high net worth families have very specific and complex financial needs. We intentionally focus in these areas so that we can use our expertise and human touch to offer a specialized experience for each of our clients."

Growing up, Debbie’s family owned an accounting business, which showed her early on the impact she could make with a career in the financial services industry. But she chose a different path during her college years. She graduated from Drew University, magna cum laude, and then went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Cornell Law School. After graduating from Law School, Debbie worked for several years at one of New Jersey’s largest law firms, Riker Danzig. But she quickly learned that, as an attorney, she wasn’t able to help people in the way she wanted to.

Debbie eventually left the practice of law to follow in her father’s footsteps and became a Certified Public Accountant, joining the family tax and accounting practice her mother and father worked so hard to build. She recalls:

After a few years, I realized that the personal finance aspect of the accounting profession was very exciting to me. Combining accounting and tax services, I was able to provide holistic advice and help people move forward towards their dreams.

It was then that Debbie finally realized her true calling to become a financial advisor. By providing sound advice, she seeks to ensure that her clients do not have to face life’s uncertainties alone. Whether it be sudden wealth, a death, divorce, or even retirement, she and her team at Taylor Financial Group are dedicated to assisting others in need and supporting them on their journeys towards security and financial independence.

Taylor Financial Group now employs a deft team of financial services professionals committed to helping the firm’s clients achieve financial peace of mind. Their goal-oriented step-by- step process to maintaining and growing wealth entails getting to know their clients and their financial needs in order to craft personalized wealth management strategies, which are tailored to each client's goals.

Looking to stay ahead of the curve, Debbie keeps a close watch of trends in the financial services industry. In particular, with respect to high net worth families and affluent women, which are the core of Taylor Financial Group’s clientele, she is always striving to be innovative. She often presents to her peers at national conferences and has been repeatedly recognized as a member of LPL Financial’s Chairman’s Club[1] for being one of their top financial advisers, a distinction given to only the top 6% of LPL’s more than 12,000 advisors. Debbie has also been awarded the Women’s Choice Award[2] four years in a row, and has been named a Five Star Wealth Manager[3] for the past four years too. She noted:

"We have also noticed more and more the need for women to be educated and active in the management of their wealth, for their families and for themselves. We know that high net worth families have very specific and complex financial needs. We intentionally focus in these areas so that we can use our expertise and human touch to offer a specialized experience for each of our clients."

After two decades dedicated to helping her clients achieve financial independence, Debbie’s career shows no signs of slowing down. Looking to the future, she aims to grow every aspect of her practice to consistently and continually support her clients on their journeys towards well-being and a prosperous life.

Debbie currently lives in Ramsey, New Jersey with her husband, three children, two dogs and two cats. She is active in the community and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for The Valley Hospital. She enjoys spending time with her family, exercising, traveling, and reading.
