"Kansas City was in a bit of a niche market during the crash, so we really didn't have as many foreclosures. The market has been pretty consistent and, believe it or not, we have a very low inventory right now. We are doing a lot of new construction and we're projecting that next year will be even more phenomenal than the last few."
Cindy Laffey, Loan Officer, Inlanta Mortgage
With almost 20 years of experience in mortgages, Ms. Laffey brings a wealth of knowledge to her industry. When asked why she decided to pursue a career in mortgages Ms. Laffey said:
"I started my career in finance as a banking center manager for Bank of America. During my time there, I would regularly refer business to the loan officers in the office. I was a number one referral source for the mortgage company. I became intrigued enough to try it out myself."
As a thought-leader in her field, Ms. Laffey keeps a close eye on prevailing trends in the Kansas City real estate market and mortgage lending industry. In particular, she notes that Kansas City seemed to be somewhat insulated from the 2008 housing market crash and that today, the housing market there is as secure as ever:

Ms. Laffey is a member of the Kansas City branch of Women Who Mean Business, an organization of hand selected, high achieving professional business women who are focused on charitable efforts.
